Heather Cate manages the administration and operations of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Although she studied culture, literature, and the arts at The King’s College in New York City, Heather discovered gifting for and enjoyment in managing behind-the-scenes operations at small organizations in her various roles post-college, including a bookstore in Brooklyn, a faith-based non-profit organization in Lynchburg, and, most recently, at Good Shepherd.
When she is not designing systems, problem-solving or managing projects at Good Shepherd, Heather loves to spend her time reading and growing in knowledge about the world, how God made it, and how we can live better lives. She also writes cultural criticism and creative non-fiction, and is learning to direct youth theater, which has been a dream since she was in youth theater herself.
Heather is grateful for the opportunity to serve a church that has played a central role in her healing and acclamation to living in Lynchburg. She is excited and hopeful for the ways that God will use Good Shepherd to bring about the renewal of this city.
